Player Guide

A practical guide to playing in Eryndor and using the Witness Archives.

Using the Witness Archives

The site is organized into public setting information, campaign records, and practical tools.

  • Places contains known locations.
  • People contains player characters and public NPC information.
  • Factions contains what the party has learned about organizations.
  • Lore contains broad worldbuilding knowledge.
  • Sessions contains campaign records and recaps.
  • Resources contains player guides, rules references, handouts, and tools.

Player Knowledge and Character Knowledge

Reading a public page does not necessarily mean every character knows every detail. Use What Your Character Knows as the main guide when the distinction matters.

Discovered documents are considered known after the party receives or reads them.

Collaborative Play

Players are encouraged to:

  • Ask questions about the setting.
  • Add personal connections and cultural details.
  • Share spotlight time.
  • Treat uncertainty as an invitation to investigate.
  • Distinguish deliberate mystery from missing information.
  • Pause the game when a clarification or safety check is needed.
