Deep Speech is associated with beings, spaces, and forms of thought that do not organize experience the way most mortal minds do.
Performance note: The real-world analog is a reference for cadence, sound, and creative direction. It is not intended as a direct one-to-one translation of a real culture or language.
Sound and Cadence
To mortal listeners, Deep Speech often resembles overlapping whispers, reversed syllables, delayed echoes, and familiar words arriving in the wrong order.
Writing and Inscription
Deep Speech writing resists ordinary layout. Symbols may repeat at different scales or appear to change when reread.

Roleplaying the Language
Use broken timing, repeated phrases, and statements that seem to answer a question before it is asked.
What Your Character Knows
- Hearing Deep Speech does not always mean understanding it.
- Written samples are often copied rather than directly studied.
- Translation may lose emotional or spatial meaning.
- Some phrases seem to remember the listener.
Archive Notes
Language traditions vary by region, community, period, and speaker. A character may be fluent while still encountering unfamiliar accents, specialized vocabulary, ceremonial forms, or local writing systems.
